Built in 1995, Aventura Lodge in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, is uniquely isolated inside a red mangrove forest in front of the sea, yet only a five-minute walk to the Charles Darwin Research Station or downtown Puerto Ayora. Its location allows you to observe the mangrove ecosystem in action as well as the best views of Puerto Ayora’s bay.
The lodge is commited to sustainable tourism. Guest rooms are divided into 2 areas - seaside or inside the mangroves.
Aventura Lodge is 45 minutes by boat from Baltra Airport.
Standard Guest Rooms are located on the ground floor and on the upper levels, and have mangrove views with king size beds, full and/or twins.
There are 2 Superior Guest Rooms with ocean view, king size beds, full and/or twins. One of rooms has a private balcony on the upper level and the other room is located on the ground floor.
Suites offer scenic views to the ocean and to the bay, and are furnished with European Queen Bed, full and/or twins. Some of Suites have a private balcony.
The white walled accommodations have tiled floors with stylish furniture and decorations. All rooms have cable TV, air conditioning, ceiling fan, individual safe deposit boxes, CD player & alarm clock, private bathroom with hair dryer, mirror, bath tub with temperature control, biodegradable hair and body products and cotton towels, 110 volt electric outlets and wireless internet access.
The seaside restaurant, with choice of Japanese or Galapagos fusion cuisine, offers you the best choice and views in town. Drinks can be enjoyed at the bar. There is also a cafeteria, laundry, ironing service, phone, fax and wireless internet access. Tours can be booked at the Tour Desk.
There are a variety of land based and dive tour options that can be organised by the Lodge. Bicycles are available for hire to explore around town. The Charles Darwin Research station is a short walk away. Wildlife can be viewed from the Lodge’s wooden waterfront terrace – marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs, soaring frigate birds are regularly seen.
