Matangi Island Resort's popular dives sites.

Deep Blue: This site is called deep blue because of the clear blue water at the drop off. Beautiful coral formations that begin at 30-40 feet and drop off vertically with lots of fish life. At 30 feet on the sand you see white tips sharks sleeping. Good on low and high tide current with a soft south easterly.

Side walk: This is a nice easy dive with beautiful coral formation and gentle current. Lots of fish life with occasional sighting of white tip sharks. The gentle slope of reef gives you room to alternate your depth.

Still waters: A submerged reef off the coast of Qamea with depth range of 15-100 ft. Predominantly a soft coral dive and beautiful structural architecture of the reef with arches and overhangs. Common fish are damsels, anthias, dottybacks, fusiliers, anemone fish, schooling barracuda. squirrelfish and big-eye bream.

Raranitiga Passage: A steep slope to depths of about 100 feet. A combination of hard and soft corals, sea fans, feather stars and anemones. Lots of nudibranchs, triggerfish and surgeonfish. Look out for the painted rock lobster, schooling batfish and scorpion fish also have been seen at this site.
