Seaventures Dive Rig is one of the most unique dive resorts in the world located about 1 kilometre offshore from Mabul Island and a short 20-25 minute boat ride to Sipadan where you will find some of the world’s best dive sites. The dive resort’s foundation is a converted rig which still maintains the allure and spirit of a working rig yet with more comfortable accommodation, dining facilities and a working dive station with an external elevator dive platform to lower guests to water level and the waiting dive boats below.
Guests staying a minimum of 3 consecutive nights on a Non-Dorm Room Diving Package OR a minimum of 4 consecutive nights on a Dorm Room Diving Package are eligible for a one day Sipadan Permit guarantee with Seaventures. Priority of Sipadan Permits is given to divers.
For safety reasons, no children under 10 years of age are permitted on board unless they are under the constant supervision of their parents/guardians.
To reach Seaventures Dive Rig, you will need to take a flight from Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu to Tawau. From Tawau Airport it is a 90 minute road transfer to Semporna Jetty. From Semporna, it takes up to 1 hour by boat transfer to reach Seaventures.
The resort boats operate on a set transfer schedule. Please check the resort transfer times with Dive Adventures.
Seaventures Dive Rig has an indoor dining room as well as a Main Deck Lounge which houses the bar and also serves as an open air dining area. Food is served buffet style and predominantly features Asian cuisine with fruits and salads. No ala-carte menu is provided.
The Games Room has a table tennis table and pool table and there is a Conference Room, which can accommodate up to 60 people, for screening videos or holding group meetings.
Embrace some of the best 360 degree views of the Celebes Sea and surrounding area from the Sundeck Lounge. From here you can enjoy some of the most stunning sunsets. Alternatively relax with a movie in the TV room or take advantage of the wifi connection.
The dive deck has ample room for gearing up and for a novel experience, an elevator dive platform lowers you from the rig to the water.
Seaventures is a 5* PADI Instructor Development Dive Resort actively running the PADI Cavern Diver course, a popular course for those interested to dive in Turtle Tomb at Sipadan. They also offer PADI Tec Rec courses and are a Poseidon Rebreather Centre.
Seaventures has simple, basic accommodation for divers looking for something unusual yet offering value for money. Rooms are serviced daily with fresh towels and bedding and come equipped with air-conditioning.
There are 3 room categories:
Dorm Rooms - Each dorm room has two bunk beds housing up to four people for the budget conscious and are equipped with personal lockers. The dorm-guest only communal bathroom has six individual private shower stalls.
Twin/Double Rooms – These simple and cosy rooms are reminiscent of accommodation found on a working rig with private en-suite and bedside reading lights.
The Family Room – This more spacious cabin comes equipped with a larger en-suite bathroom, a dressing area, lounge area and the option to fit an extra bed.
All diving package guests are eligible, with the exception of check in and check out days, for 3 guided boat dives per day at various dive sites between Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai Islands, along with unlimited house reef diving beneath the rig (weather and time permitting).
Snorkeling is available at the guests’ own leisure to coincide with the dive boat schedules and boat capacity.
Boats go across to Mabul Island if you want to take in a little of the local scenery and the Seaventures band provides entertainment in the evenings.
