Majika's Island Resort is a simple, rustic, local family owned and operated resort. The resort is set by the beach on Apo Island, a private island sheltered between Sangat Island and the larger Busuanga Island. Majika’s family has inhabited the area for several generations.
Getting to Majika’s Island Resort involves a 45 minute drive from Busuanga Airport across Busuanga Island followed by a 20 minute boat ride across the bay and through the mangroves to Apo Island.
You won’t find any wifi connection out here and mobile reception is minimal! If you’re an adventurous traveler, looking to get back to basics in a natural and welcoming environment surrounded by the magnificent islands and turquoise blue waters of Coron, then Majika’s could be the place for you.
Majika’s Island Resort has 7 simple fan cooled cottages, most with 2 queen beds and western en-suite bathroom with cold water shower and toilet. The Diver’s Lodge has 6 rooms each with a ¾ bottom bunk and single top bunk. All cottages and rooms have a veranda facing the ocean and beach and surrounding nature.
The pavilion houses the restaurant, bar, pool table, table tennis, tv/dvd area. There is a small salt water pool, a souvenir shop and hammocks to relax in. Electricity is supplied by solar panels and generator and is generally not available throughout the day.
The resort has stand up paddle boards, kayaks and native canoes for guests to use to explore the surrounding area. There is an on-site dive centre with daily boat dives to take you to Coron’s WWII wrecks, lakes, coral reef gardens including the family owned Majika Reef Bintuan Marine Park and Bugor Marine Park. You can paddle the kayaks or canoes to nearby reefs or a pontoon to access better swimming and snorkeling areas.
Local tours can be arranged to Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon. A hiking trail leads from the back of the property to the top of the island where you will find magnificent 360 degree views of Coron Island, Busuanga Island, Culion Island and other local surrounding islands. You can also hike to the hot springs.
