Isabela Lodge is located in the fishing village of Puerto Villamil on the largest, and one of the most volcanically active, of the Galapagos islands. The lodge is set just back from a beautiful, broad, white sand, palm fringed beach on Isabela Island.
At Isabela Lodge, guests are graced by the presence of marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and sea lions which come up to the shoreline immediately in front of the lodge at low tide.
The oceanfront property has a large wooden deck and roof top terrace from which to enjoy the endless sea views, and can be reached by boat transfer from Santa Cruz or is a 5 minute drive from Villamil Airport.
Isabela Lodge has 8 guest rooms set in four Santa Fe, duplex style buildings. The one oceanfront building opens directly onto the large, common, wooden terrace fronting onto the beach and features a beautiful rooftop patio.
The contemporary, air conditioned rooms all have two queen-size beds, mini-bar, ceiling fan, reading lamps, clock radio, wireless internet access, en-suite bathroom with hair dryer, hot water and individual safe deposit boxes.
Local cuisine with delicious freshly baked bread and locally grown organic fruit is served at the restaurant. There are many places to gather or relax on the expansive wooden deck in chairs, sun lounges or in hammocks. The Lodge offers laundry, wireless internet access, an in-house tour desk and bicycles for exploring the island.
The tour desk has many land based adventure programmes available to see the volcanoes, lava tunnels, wildlife and sites around Isabela. Snorkeling, fishing and diving programmes are also available.
Isabela Lodge is close to Isabela Beach, El Embarcadero Pier, and Concha de Perla. Additional regional attractions include Isla Tortuga. The town’s main square and other dining options are just 400 metres away.
