Kungkungan Bay Resort was the first international dive resort pioneering “muck diving” in Lembeh Strait. The resort is located on the waterfront in it’s own private, protected bay; away from the sounds of Indonesian village life. Built on the site of an old coconut plantation with views of the sunrise, rugged Lembeh Island and the smaller Serena Island, Kungkungan Bay Resort blends into the environment using traditional architecture with the addition of western style bathrooms and amenities to provide international standards of comfort, convenience, safety and privacy.
After a scenic 80 minute drive from Manado airport you will arrive at Kungkungan Bay Resort. The resort has 17 luxurious rooms in 4 categories. All rooms are beachfront (with one exception) and just steps from the magical waters of the Lembeh Strait.
The 8 Beachfront Cottage Suites are the original rooms opened in 1994. Made of coconut wood in a duplex setting, these cottages are very popular. The 4 Beachfront Traditional Houses were originally built in the village of “Woloan” in the Tondono Highlands. There are 4 luxury Beachfront Villas and 1 Hillside Villa set amongst the tree tops. The 2 bedroom Owners Suite was also bought from the village of “Woloan”.
Standard room amenities are air conditioning with ceiling fans, in-room telephones, free Wi-Fi, stocked mini bar, coffee/tea facilities, unlimited bottled water, en suite bathroom, hairdryer, turn down service. There is satellite TV with movie channels in all rooms except the Cottage Suites.
Early morning Bitung city trip, Minahasa Highland Tour, Manado city trip, Tangkoko jungle tour, snorkelling and diving. Lembeh dive sites are only 5-15 minutes boat ride away.
