Marine House SEASIR Akajima is a comfortable pension facility with an on-site dive centre that has been in operation on Aka Island since 1983. Located 50 - 90 minutes by ferry from Naha, Aka Island is a good base for scuba diving and snorkeling around the stunning Kerama archipelago.
The pension is centrally located within a 5 minute walk of Maehama Beach and Hizushi Beach, and the Ferry Terminal and Nishihama Beach are less than a mile away.
This cosy and simple pension has a total of 17 smoke-free guestrooms, in a combination of Japanese Tatami rooms and Western style rooms spread over 3 floors.
1st Floor Rooms - 3 Japanese Tatami rooms with maximum capacity of 2 people per room. Shared external toilet and shower room.
2nd Floor Rooms - 4 rooms with 2 single beds for twin sharing and 3 Japanese Tatami rooms for twin or triple sharing. All rooms have attached toilet and bathroom.
3rd Floor Rooms - 5 rooms with western style beds for triple sharing and 2 Japanese Tatami rooms for triple sharing. All rooms have attached toilet and bathroom.
The rooms come equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, desk, wifi, digital TV and hair dryers.
Delicious meals are served in the 2nd floor restaurant which has free WiFi connection. There are designated smoking areas and a large rooftop terrace with seaviews and a jacuzzi. Multilingual staff can assist with tour and ticket reservations.
Transfers are provided complimentary from the Aka Ferry Terminal.
The Dive Centre offers boat dives, introductory dives, night dives, snorkeling trips and kayaks.
Sightseeing activities such as glass-bottom boat trips to the underwater monument, charter fishing trips, cruises, scuba diving at the underwater monument and surrounding reefs, and car rental can be arranged through the hotel and through Sou-Wes Diving. Mr Kihachiro Aratake, the then divemaster who discovered the Underwater Monument, is the founder of Sou-Wes Diving.
