Nusa Island Retreat is located on Nusa Lik Islands, a 5 minute car and boat ride across the scenic harbour from Kavieng and is surrounded by tropical waters that are teeming with marine life. The Retreat is low impact and environmentally friendly with accommodation in the form of traditional, island-style bungalows. Most of the bungalows are set on the water's edge, and all have great views.
The waters surrounding Nusa Island and Kavieng have excellent wreck diving with several World War II ships and plane wrecks nearby, coral encrusted lagoons that are teeming with marine life, drift diving as well as caves and pelagics aplenty.
The Resort also has plenty to offer to sports fishermen and surfers.
The eco-sensitive resort is set on a white sandy point of the island and offers a range of traditional bungalow accommodation and relaxed charm. Each bungalow has a supply of linen, towels, mosquito nets, ceiling fan, security boxes, fresh rainwater for drinking (bottled water available for purchase from the bar), 240 volt 24 hour power. There are 3 Standard Bungalows with 2 queen + 2 single beds built on or by the beach with the use of two shared ablution blocks and 7 Premium Bungalows, some built over the water, with 2 queen or 2 queen + 1 single bed. There is also a two storey Premium Garden House with 1 queen + 1 single bed downstairs and 2 queen + 1 single bed upstairs suitable for families or small groups. The Premium accommodations have private facilities with cold water and dry compost toilet.
The central beachfront restaurant and bar serves tasty and fresh meals - a la carte breakfast and lunch, buffet style dinner (special dietary requirements must be advised in advance); upper level lounge with AV and board games; artefacts and Malagan carving room; laundry facilities; phone and fax facilities available on request; table tennis table; dugout canoes and kayaks; surf boat transfers; fishing trips and rod / tackle hire; library of books, magazines, and music. Scuba Ventures, located across the harbour, will cater for all your diving needs.
